  9. This document provides information on how to install and uninstall 
  10. the updated Point32 drivers for IntelliPoint 1.1, IntelliType 1.1, 
  11. EasyBall 1.0. The Point32 drivers have been modified to address 
  12. known problems with the SnapTo and PointerWrap features that were 
  13. causing General Protection Faults in some 16-bit applications. 
  14. Changes have also been added to fix problems interacting with some
  15. third party software programs.

  18. HOW TO USE THIS DOCUMENT

  21. To view the Readme file on-screen in Windows Notepad, maximize the 
  22. Notepad window and click Word Wrap on the Edit menu. To print the 
  23. Readme file, open it in Notepad or another word processor, and then 
  24. use the Print command on the File menu.

  36. If Windows 95 is installed on your computer and you wish to install the
  37. updated Point32 drivers, one of the following must also be installed on
  38. your computer:
  39.  
  40.  - Microsoft IntelliPoint version 1.1
  41.  - Microsoft IntelliType version 1.1
  42.  - Microsoft EasyBall version 1.0
  43.  
  44. To install the Point32 drivers on a computer running Windows 95, 
  45. double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

  48. 2. UNINSTALLING THE UPDATED POINT32 DRIVERS

  51. Perform one of the following steps to uninstall the updated Point32
  52. drivers:

  54.  - Run Setup from any of the following products:
  55.  
  56.     - Microsoft IntelliPoint version 1.1
  57.     - Microsoft IntelliType version 1.1
  58.     - Microsoft EasyBall version 1.0
  59.  
  60.    Reinstallation of the earlier software prompts you for confirmation
  61.    before overwriting the updated drivers. Choose OK to accomplish this.

  65.  - Uninstall the files manually:
  66.  
  67.    1. Restart your computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95"
  68.       message, press the F8 key, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt
  69.       Only from the Startup menu.
  70.  
  71.    2. Change to the folder where you installed IntelliPoint, IntelliType,
  72.       or EasyBall (typically this is the C:\MSINPUT folder).

  74.    3. Copy Point32.e11 to Point32.exe.
  75.  
  76.    4. Copy Point32.d11 to Point32.dll.

  78.    5. Restart Windows 95 for the original drivers to take effect.
